Jimmy Clayton (Twitter, LinkedInis a retired educator and coach. He spent 35 years working for Cabell County Schools in WV at Huntington East, Huntington, and Cabell Midland High Schools. In October 1992 he founded Sports City U, the United States’ first year-round basketball player development academy that he still runs and operates today. He previously worked as a shooting consultant with the NBA’s New Jersey (now Brooklyn) Nets and Portland Trail Blazers and personally coached Lawrence Moten, Patrick Patterson, and O.J. He is currently a Nike Skills/Shooting Specialist who speaks at Nike Championship Basketball Clinics nationwide as well as a certified John Maxwell Leadership Speaker, Trainer, and Coach. I had the pleasure of working with Jimmy during my time at Cabell Midland High School and on today’s show we discuss his concept of “BAM! (Believe! Achieve! Motivate!)” as well as other ideas related to education and coaching.

PodcastPD – Anytime, Anywhere, Professional Development

Podcast PD launched in January of 2017 and is a part of the Education Podcast Network. The hosts for this show are Stacey Lindes, AJ Bianco, and Christopher Nesi. All of them are educators from New Jersey and work to share their PD experiences and insights through their podcast. The concept of the podcast started as a Twitter chat in April of 2015 where educators could chat with podcast hosts and fans on various topics related to education. This morphed over those two years into this great podcast that any educator should find interesting and enjoyable. You can find the show online at http://podcastpd.com
